Step 1

Install the Sora app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or go to soraapp.com.

Step 2

In Sora, find your school, then sign in using your Google Sign In.

Step 3

Browse the Explore tab and borrow a book. Your book will open so you can start reading right away.

Step 4

Close the book and go to shelf to see all your books. From there, you can:

• Select Open book or Open audiobook to read or listen to the book.

• Select Options to renew or return the book, see your notes and highlights, and more.

To search for a book, go to Explore and select the search icon.  You can search for a book title, author, series, or subject.  Or, select Filters to search by format, language, reading level, and more.

By default, you'll see results from all the libraries you've added in Sora. If you only want to see results from your current library, go to menu > All Settings and turn off Search All Libraries (under "General").

You can use Sora to browse your library and borrow books with your library card.

Note: The type of account you have may limit the library books you see in Sora.

To add your library:

• Click or tap the menu icon.

• Select Add Library.

• Use the search box to find and select your library. The library will open in the Explore tab and be saved so you can get back to it later. 

To switch between libraries or add libraries another way, select a library from the menu or from the drop-down at the top of the Explore tab or add one.

When you select Add Library.  Use the search box to find and select your library.  You will need to sign in using Google for some.  Here are the FREE Libraries Oceanside students have access to:

• Nassau BOCES School Library System 

• LI Students Read 

• Nassau Digital Doorway 

  • Note:  This is your PUBLIC LIBRARY.  You must add your Oceanside Library Card to access this library.  If you do not have an Oceanside Library Card, please click here to find out how to get a library card.
