Music

Ridgemont has a burgeoning music program offering students courses in wind instruments, strings and repertoire (band). This year we are thrilled to have students from the strings program and guitar ensemble enriching the school environment. Our students perform in a variety of settings and use music as a way to connect with both the school and greater communities. Our music ensembles regularly perform at school events, the Kiwanis Music Festival, the Tulip Festival, and collaborations between the school board and institutions such as the NAC orchestra. In addition, music trips in the spring allow for extended learning and community building experiences. Students are excited about New York this year! The music room is also often open at lunch for students keen to practice and further develop their skills on new instruments. It is wonderful to hear them practicing. While some students are building on skills they developed in elementary school, others are brand new to their instruments. Their progress is astounding, and their excitement infectious. It all sounds great!
