Instructions:

1.1

Summarize the growth and development of the International Human Rights framework from 1945 to the present day. Be sure to identify the role International NGOs play. Show how this human rights discourse is broadly accepted and global in scope. (Approx. 10-15 lines. References required.)

Select a specific example of human rights 'violation' within a specific country (your choice). Include as detailed names, dates, statistics (quantitative) and qualitative evidence as you can. Identify the role NGOs play in the "name and shame" of the state-actor in question. Include calls for action, and prescribed political interventions by other state and non-state actors. (Approx. 20 lines. References Required.)

Use 1.1 and 1.2 and develop counter argument through application of Matthew/McGrew (the one you are not supporting). Demonstrate one strong reason why the counter argument can be supported with evidence. Cite the theorist and specific evidence from the case study. (Approx. 10 lines. References required.)

Use 1.1 and 1.2 to advance your argument (either Matthews or McGrew). Demonstrate strong reasons with clear qualitative and quantitative evidence from the case study. Cite theorist. (Approx. 20 lines. References required)
