After #MeToo and #TimesUp, now what? Talking about sexual violence and consent is daunting at the best of times, and even more so when your students are coming with a new range of questions, assumptions, and concerns. This session will look at the messages about consent and respect that surround students in their daily lives, and the kind of impact they can have. We will also talk about the different resources available through organisations like the ORCC, both for you and for your students. We will explore ways that you can support your students and discuss strategies to talk to them about sex, consent, and healthy relationships in a post-MeToo era.

It looks like tennis, sounds like ping pong and favours the same light-on-your-toes action of badminton. But pickleball is a sport in its own right, and an explosion of popularity among recreational participants has made it one of the fast-growing sports in Canada.

Hurling is a distinctly Irish field invasion game played with a stick, called a hurley, and a ball called a sliotar. I mixes elements of baseball, lacrosse and hockey. Players may strike the ball on the ground, or in the air, they may catch the ball or pick the ball up with their hurley and into your hand. Hurling is often called the fastest field sport in the world. If you're looking for a sport that combines a large number of skills and strategies from other sports - look no further!
It is a stick and ball game, played by teams of 15 on a rectangular grass pitch with H-shaped goals at each end. The primary object is to score by driving the ball through the goals or putting the ball over the bar and thereby scoring a point. Three points is the equivalent of a goal. The team with the highest score at the end of the match wins.
It is over 3,000 years old, and is said to be the world’s fastest field game, combining skills from lacrosse, field hockey, and baseball in a hard-hitting, highly paced game.
