BC

Gauntlet of secrecy

Cardboard, aluminum, glue, rope, fabric, pencil

I came to create this armour from using the values of Athena and mine. I used the shaping of cardboard technique and the layering of structures/designs technique using glue because I wanted my armour to look metallic and be able to fit me comfortably.

Surrealist Paintings 2022-2023

Students performed surrealist brainstorming techniques and learned painting skills to create their surrealist paintings in either acrylics or watercolour.

Space Train

My concept for the painting is incorporating my own favorite things, black holes and subway trains, and creating a beautiful scene. The train is a TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) rocket train which is hinted at by the maple leafs floating by. Toronto does have a reputation for thinking they’re the center of the universe. My mom would know, she grew up there.

Information Lost to Disorder (Via Trump)

Oversaturation - splatter - impact - Trump hovers above directing his Mind-Powers at an unwilling observer, manipulating with a cruel hand - infecting his medium, humanity's new source of information, computers. The otherwise colourful screen of the device has been twisted into grey by Trump's influence - a powerful tool used for wrong when it could have been wonderful. It's hard to tell what's real anymore - in such a dark room, the altered screen seems to be all that exists - the observer can't see the dogs leading them towards the window. Why not escape? Touch some grass, dude? Why live subject to such tyranny? Because the world has been warped - a reality otherwise so bright, and wonderful has been switched out with something grey. The observer is being told that they are grey, and that the world is grey, and that Trump is all that is real - even if colour does exist, and it doesn't have to be wrong.

Anatomical Narrative Project

Fear Of Challenge

In the first panel, a man must decide whether to climb the hill with light or the large mountain covered in dark skies. The hill symbolizes the easier path, while the mountain symbolizes challenge and his fear. In the second panel, the man walks up the hill on the gravel terrain, while seeing a light at the end. The light symbolizes the man’s vision of success. In the third panel, the man realizes the light did not come to him; the sky was dull, and he felt tears that represent feelings of sadness and confusion.

Digital - photo manipulation. Santa Claus Is Watching

The implications of Santa existing are immense. If he does deliver presents all across the world in one night, he does so in a capacity so inhuman one would dare to call him ‘superhuman’ - or, better yet, extraterrestrial. Somehow, he possesses extensive knowledge of every human’s location - at all times, or just at Christmas. How he does this is a matter of intense epistemological importance.

Daisy Fields Forever

Acrylic on paper

The inspiration behind the piece goes back to a particular spring day in which the clouds appeared fluffier and lighter than usual; I decided to captivate this aura through means of art. During the process, I used several painting techniques, including the use of dry brush and stippling for tiny details, considering the canvas was of small size.

Reborn Aura

This artwork represents the monumental milestone of being reborn and becoming the best version of yourself. It is meant to illustrate the process of letting go of damaging habits and negative energy in order to become the individual you wish to be. I chose a black and white colour scheme since the process of being reborn generally entails rising from your own ashes and darkness.
