One of my favourite things about your visits to the library is talking to you about what you are reading! I've created this space so that I can share book recommendations with you. I also want you to have the chance to share any good books you are reading, or have read so that other students can join in on the adventure!

Student recommendations....

Amber from Northeast campus recommends A Dog's Way Home by Bobbie Pyron. Here's what they say! "It is about a dog who gets swept away by a river during a dog crash and he has to find his way back home to his girl. I like that the book has different perspectives from the two main characters, and there is also a lot of adventure in this book."

Khaled from Southwest campus recommends Mysteries According to Humphrey by Betty Birney. Here's what they say! "A hamster which his teacher's gone missing. I like the whole book and how it's exciting."

Melody from Northeast campus recommends the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. Here's what they say! "It's a book about Greek Mythology. I just love Greek Mythology and reading Percy Jackson just made my interest of Greek Mythology increase."

Aiden recommends Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Here's what they say! "A boy named Ender is trained by government officials to fight an alien species that has almost wiped out humanity twice before, and becomes the best soldier in battle school. It has a lot of description, and accurately resembles how people would do things in real life. It keeps readers on edge, and yet does not have the moments that most books have where people read something that reminds them that it is not real life. Instead, readers start to feel as if they are in the world of the book."

Malaika from Northeast campus recommends Dork Diaries series by Rachel Renee Russell. Here's what they say! "It's about a girl named Nikki and her 2 best friends named Chloe and Zoe and they help her get through during the school year. I like how it is really relatable.

Arianna from Southwest campus recommends Sisters by Raina Telgemeier. Here's what they say! "Sisters is an autobiographical graphic novel written as a follow up to her earlier graphic memoir Smile. It details a long summer road trip taken from San Francisco to Colorado by her family and explores the relationship between Raina and her younger sister, Amara. I like that there is so much going on in the book."

Maelle from Central-West campus recommends The Silver Arrow by Lev Grossman. Here's what they say! "The book is about 2 kids that ride a runaway train with talking animals on board. I like that it is an adventure book and that the train can talk."
