About me
To me, I've always wanted to be a teacher. I have had a few different back up plans, but the main goal has always been to be a teacher. To me, I have always wanted to have a positive impact on the world no matter what occupation I have. In my classroom, I have a few goals. Number one, I want students to like or perhaps even love school. This might happen through academics or through sports and clubs. Second, I hope students will leave my classroom a better person. This is can look different in many students. Maybe he or she is more socially or environmentally conscious, or more confident in themselves or their abilities. It will depend on the student's needs. The one thing students will often hear me say is get involved! Get involved in sports or in clubs at the school. . Lastly, I hope students in my class gain a love of reading. Between the books I choose to read them or the books available to them in the classroom, I hope they develop a love of reading. To me, it wasn't until grade three that I truly fell in love with reading (thank you Mrs. Moore!). Reading is all around us and is in every single subject we do in school. To me, daily reading is one of the most important things students can do. I also try to teach the way I want to be taught. Whether that means trying to do everything I can to reduce anxiety or trying to make each lesson exciting, challenging and bringing in real life situations.
