How to support Math at home

In my opinion, at this age, the best way to support Math at home is to encourage your child's creativity and interest in mathematics through free play, exploration, and games. Some of my personal favourite logic, reasoning, and number games which I play at home with my own children are:

• ThinkFun Rush Hour Jr. Traffic Logic Game
• Tenzi dice game
• Uno (Google "Uno Math Games" to get additional math variations from the traditional game)
• Dr. Eureka
• Puzzles
• Checkers and/or Chess

I generally try to limit "screen time" at home, however here are some Math websites and games to try online with your child if you are interested... more to come!

Brain Pop

*Be sure to filter for Math and Grade 1. Some games I would recommend trying are Jelly Bean and Battleship Numberline.

Coding

*Adjust the filters for Grade 1 and go from there.

Prodigy
