Instructional and Assessment Accommodations:
We work with teachers to provide students access to:
Extra time writing tests, quizzes and exams
Alternate space for tests when needed
Speech-to-text and other assistive software
Help with planning and editing written work for essays and projects
Accommodations for EQAO Grade 9 Mathematics and Literacy Tests
Technology and Assistive Devices:
LSS room is equipped with chromebooks
Chromebooks can be signed out to be used in classes
Assistive technology software training: Google Read & Write
We Produce the Following Documentations:
Individual Education Plans (IEP's) – include instructional, environmental, and/or assessment accommodations - IEP's will be sent home to families mid-October. Most IEP's are developed once official documents are received such as: Psych-Ed Assessment that is completed by a psychologist.
Identification Placement and Review Committee (IPRC) documentation for students who have been formally identified as exceptional. Meetings are held in the spring.
