AWE3M GRADE: 11

This course focuses on the development of media arts skills through the creation of the yearbook. Students will learn and use a variety of skills, tools and software including photography, Lightroom, Photoshop, InDesign, and more. Students will use the creative process to produce effective media art works, and critically analyse the unique characteristics of this art form. Students will examine the role of media art in shaping audience perceptions of identity, culture, and values.

AWE4M GRADE: 12

This course examines communications technology from a media perspective. Students will focus specifically on yearbook production: print and graphic communications; photography; digital imaging; journalism; and interactive new media. Students will also develop an awareness of related environmental and societal issues, and will explore college and university programs and career opportunities in the various communications technology fields.
