Updated December 1st
New this year:
*For the 4 sports that require tryouts (Soccer, Bordenball, Tripleball & Basketball), individual students can participate in 2 out of the 4 sports teams each year. This will allow a greater number of students the experience of being a part of a school team.
🤾🏾Bordenball🤾🏼♀️
Bordenball-fever was full blast during November! Much fun was had during PE class, Intramurals, and team practices. We will have two teams competing at each of the Regional Girls’ and Boys’ Tournaments on December 3rd and 4th. GO BEARS!
🏐Tripleball🏐
Tripleball is the next sport on the Jr Athletics menu. Tripleball is essentially a modified version of volleyball designed for young athletes to promote better skill development, more playing time, and fun. The core difference from standard volleyball is a sequence of three rallies per rotation, with an incoming ball toss from a coach after each incoming serve (from the opposing team). This ensures more action and successful returns/rallies.
We have started developing our volleyball skills in PE class using lightweight “trainer balls” and will transition to regular volleyballs as our skills develop.
Tryouts for our Regional Tournament Teams (boys/girls) will take place early in the new year. The Regional Tournament is tentatively scheduled for the end of February.
