On December 31st, 2024, 21:53:59 UTC, my computer reported this PRP. It is the 32nd term in this sequence with a stunning 463273 digits.
It is the largest PRP discovered in history. Exceeding the previous historic high, 2^1346431+691203 by 57957 digits.
This is also the first prime successfully discovered by a collaborative effort of 2 laptops. The old and slow one is used to trial factor the candidates and do Pminus1 factoring on them to eliminate as many candidates as possible, as well as verifying the result with PFGW. The new and fast one is used to run the PRP tests using George Woltman's Prime95 software.
This PRP lies slightly above the trend line predicted by the first 31 primes.
I'm on my planning in publicizing the sievers and other softwares I wrote to help me find 2^n-25 primes. If you want a preview version, download it here.
On December 17th, 2024, 20:45 UTC-5, my computer reported yet another PRP of the form 2^n-25. It is the 31st term in this sequence with 248147 digits.
This makes it the largest prime ever discovered in exponential projects, the largest prime discovered since September 8th, 2024, and the 5th largest prime in history.
