The Small Paintings Project (SPP) is a seven (7) session visual arts series of workshops, under contract with the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, presented by VSA Orange County Teaching Artists who provide sequential instruction in creating visual art. This project brings age-appropriate, accessible art exploration, and art making to students via a design of progressive visual arts exercises, develops skills, which progress from "viewing " art to "making art in multiples scales, while using various media techniques and materials. This project enables students, of any age and ability, to experience and create art while also employing key instructional strategies established within the California visual and performing arts standards and National core art standards in isolated, inclusive, mainstreamed schools, and community setting
