Nicotine, Batteries, Plastics and the Environment
In this learning activity students will be presented with information on how cigarettes and e-cigarettes pollute our environment in several ways. Students will formulate questions and access valid information to answer their questions.
Throw Down a REVERSE on Negative Peer Influences
Students will generate a list of various peer relationships who may influence them to vape or smoke in this activity. Students will analyze these influences’ motives and consider healthy outdoor alternatives which match the true motives of the influencer (to connect, to make friends, to spend time together).
Community Science: Mapping and Surveying
Tobacco and e-cigarettes are a hazardous threat to Orange County landfills and ecosystems. In this activity students will map and survey local areas to gather data about the levels of hazardous pollution in their local communities.
Becoming a TeenEFFECT Ambassador
These activities teach students (6-8th grade) how to create their own Public Service Announcement (PSA) about the impacts of vaping on the environment, using only their phone.
