Join us this summer for an inspiring professional learning opportunity designed for educators passionate about fostering inclusive and representative education. The Summer Institute is a four-day event that will support teaching teams with implementation of the Cambodian American Studies, Hmong History and Cultural Studies, and Vietnamese American Experiences Model Curricula.
Why Attend the Summer Institute?
Engage with Model Curricula: Gain a deep understanding of the Cambodian American Studies, Hmong History and Cultural Studies, and Vietnamese American Experiences Model Curricula.
Collaborate and Strategize: Work with your team to develop lesson plans, adapt content to your district’s demographics, and plan for implementation.
Earn a Stipend: Participating educators will receive stipends for their time and dedication if their district enters into an MOU with OCDE. Attendees residing more than 50 miles away will receive hotel accommodations and reimbursement for flights.
Teams of California TK-12 educators from the same school or district (e.g., history/social science teachers, ELA teachers, Ethnic Studies teachers, curriculum specialists, administrators).
