Before and After School teachers working in licensed before and after school care program can earn a stipend for completing early childhood education units that will lead to a CA Child Development permit.

The purpose of the QCC Workforce Pathways Grant is to support increased learning and healthy development of California’s young children by increasing the number of qualified ELC professionals and increasing the educational credentials, knowledge, and competencies of existing ELC professionals across the state.

We are happy to announce the continuation of funding for the Orange County Workforce Pathways Stipend Program for the year 2024-2025.
This program is open to early learning professionals (teachers and family child care providers) working directly with children ages birth to 5 years old (infant, toddlers, and preschool). You must attend one orientation date to participate in this program!
To be eligible for this program you must be a teacher, assistant, or family child care provider working in a licensed preschool program. You must be enrolled in an accredited college or university working on an AA/AS or BA/BS in ECE/CD or taking classes to attain or upgrade your early childhood permit. There is limited space for participants who currently have a BA/BS, and a Teacher Permit or higher to receive a stipend for completing 21 hours of approved professional development.
Prior to registering, if you do not have a current CA Workforce Registry ID number you will need to obtain one at https://caregistry.org.

The QCC Workforce Pathways Stipend Program is administered by the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE), coordinated by the Orange County Child Care and Development Planning Council (OC LPC), and funded by CDE.
Earn a stipend for completing coursework towards:
Attaining a CA Child Development Permit (CDP): Assistant, Associate, Teacher, Master Teacher, or Site Supervisor
Units towards your AA/AS degree in ECE/CD
Units towards your BA/BS degree in ECE/CD
Completion of a AA/AS or BA/BS degree in ECE/CD
Completion of Infant Toddler units at a Community College
Complete 21 hours of professional development as outlined in the program requirements. Must have a BA/BS and a current teacher permit to qualify for this stipend (space limited)
