Sketches are one of the most beneficial skills a designer can develop and hone to communicate their ideas to others and themselves. While more polished work like CAD drawings and 3D visualisations help communicate a final proposal, there is other work that’s used to introduce, test, and experiment with these ideas. Sketching is one of the most powerful and effective techniques for this work. To celebrate the power and beauty of sketches, OCA’s Interior Design Department is hosting its first Spatial Sketching Online Exhibition. 

Spatial designers, like architects and interior designers, use sketching differently than fine artists and those working in 2D. There is a lot of imperfection in these sketches, but there’s also a lot of effectiveness.
