This online exhibition presents a single mixed-media artwork, Becoming – A Letter to Michelle from Natasha with Love, as the centrepiece of my final MA Fine Art submission.
It is a deeply personal offering, one that weaves memory, identity, and reconciliation into a visual and written dialogue. The work began as a letter to myself, created during a time of reflection on the parts of my story I once silenced.
Informed by my experience as a British-Jamaican, African woman living in Kuwait, Becoming explores the quiet resistance of the self to forget, and the courage it takes to return. Through the artwork, handwritten letter, and recorded conversation, this exhibition invites you into a threshold space, where voice, memory, and selfhood meet.
This is not just an artwork. It is an opening.
