For this standard, the context you choose must be related to Level 3 Physics concepts. Contexts that you can choose from, but are not limited to, are as follows:
Race track design (banked corners in e.g. MTB or NASCAR)
Sports involving spin/rotation (diving, tennis, high jump, trampolining, cricket)
AC/DC (conversion of mains AC supply to smooth DC required for many day-today appliances)
Loop-the-loop (vertical rollercoasters)
This internal requires independent study and commitment. Using the resources provided in conjunction with your workbook, you should study and understand the concepts relating to Modern Physics.
Assessment: this will be in the form of a short-version exam paper (40 minutes), which will be sat in school under supervised conditions.
For this standard, the context you choose must be related to Level 3 Physics concepts. Contexts that you choose should allow for you to explain the physics concepts involved, as well as find and present informed opinions on the issue.
It is recommended that you choose the context of Nuclear Energy, as this closely relates to the Modern Physics content, however, you are not limited to this context.
Assessment: this will be in the form of a written report (approx. 3-4 pages long) using one of the available Google platforms. NOTE submissions in Word, PDF or other formats will not be accepted. ALL submissions are via TurnItIn.
