Objective: Students should complete at least one career interest task by accessing the resources provided below. If you have already completed a career interest inventory or similar task previously you should use this time to continue your career exploration.
Gather information about careers of interest and take advantage of the provided resources for today and for future exploration. It’s okay if you “don’t have any idea what you want to do” -- there are plenty of items for taking even the first step in self-discovery and it’s never too early (or late) to start! You can work independently or in pairs to complete at least one career interest task
a) Take an interest-assessment test if you have not done so already
b) Look up one or two resources listed in the specific sector of interest (ie business, the arts etc). In addition to there being specific resources for identified subject areas, there are activities under the sections “general career information”, “skills and interest exploration”, and “resources for internships, service work, or job experiences”. Fill out this form after you are done.
c) Compare job portals in different regions: such as the UK versus Singapore
d) Research potential summer volunteer or internship opportunities in areas that interest you.
