TIPS & TRICKS
FOR VIDEOS: Try to create good lighting. Center yourself within the frame and clearly showcase yourself from the waist up so that your facial expressions and gestures can be clearly seen. Landscape and portrait orientation are both acceptable. Make sure audio is clear enough to understand. It's more important that we hear your voice than the backing track, so keep that in mind when you film!
These songs all tell a story. Listen to the song in its entirety, discover the emotional journey of the character, and apply that to your audition cut. Every character is just as important as the next. Genuine humanity should shine through in your performance!
Remember, we are all college students! Our team is very friendly and kind. Don't feel too intimidated when you walk into the room. We're just as nervous and excited as you!
Do your best! If you make a mistake, it's okay! No one is perfect and we all understand that. We are here to support you! <3
If you have ANY questions about the show, your character, your song... anything! Feel free to reach out. Email the director at lsendall@oberlin.edu! (I would love to answer your questions :))
