Pitch is accepting ALL VOICE PARTS! Also if you have any special talents (such as vocal percussion/beatboxing), we'd love to hear it :) If you have any questions please reach out to us at pitchplz@oberlin.edu and we are SO excited to hear all your lovely voices!
In person auditions will be held in two sections on Saturday (9/7) from 2-5 PM and 7-9 PM, Bibbins 237. Please prepare a verse and chorus (usually around 1 minute) of a song of any genre! We ask that if you're performing a musical theater song to bring a back up, non-musical theater song just in case we want to hear a different style from you. Your song must be sung a capella so please no backing tracks or accompaniment. We will also do a quick range test during the audition. As we said above, we're accepting all voice parts so don't stress about your range :)
Virtual auditions will be open on Thursday (9/5) and close at 5 PM on (9/7). Similar to above, please prepare a verse and chorus (usually around 1 minute) of a song of any genre! We ask that if you're performing a musical theater song to bring a back up, non-musical theater song just in case we want to hear a different style from you. Your song must be sung a capella so please no backing tracks or accompaniment. We ask you slate with your name and the song you're performing. Please email or share the video via Google Drive to pitchplz@oberlin.edu.
Callbacks will be held on Sunday (9/8) from 1-3 PM. The room will be announced with the callback list. If you have a conflict with this, please email us beforehand-- this will not affect whether you get a callback! We'll be teaching you a small section from one of our pieces, then we'll sing through it in different arrangements to hear how we sound together. That being said there's nothing you need to prepare for callbacks. You'll hear back from us about callbacks by Saturday night.
