Congrats! You got a show! The very first step is to meet with the director. Email the director to set up an hour or so to discuss the show and their expectations for you. In preparation, you should read the script and be familiar with the show. In this meeting, you will want to make sure you discuss:
What their vision is for the show?
Talk them through your process and how you intend to do things (posting weekly and daily calls, negotiating conflicts with cast members, etc.)
How you will go about scheduling rehearsals
How you will work together to run rehearsals
How you will handle breaks
How many ASMs and other crew members you will need, or think you will need
How dance, music, and acting rehearsals will be split (if relevant)
It is absolutely acceptable to enter this meeting with suggestions, preferences, and ideas for these things. This process should be a dialogue, and you need to work with the director to run the most efficient show, which means that you might have to establish boundaries around what works best for you, too.
