Alex (she/her) is the principal investigator, always chasing the thrill of discovering something no one else has observed before. Outside of the Science Center, you might find her running around the streets of Oberlin, foraging in the woods, or, most likely, just taking a nap.
Maeve (they/them) is an incoming second year from Cincinnati who is intending to major in biology, with a keen interest in how cells prevent and respond to disease. Outside of the lab they can be found hiking in the woods, weeding garden beds, and combing the shelves of various libraries.
Jackson (He/Him) is a second year biochemistry major with an interest in macromolecules and the role of VOC's in cancer detection. When not in lab, Jackson loves playing tennis, restoring vintage cars, and hiking.
Sophie (she/her) is a second year Biology and Neuroscience double major with a concentration in Global Health. She grew up moving all around the world and hopes to work internationally in the future. When she's not in the lab, you can find Sophie reading a Murakami novel, baking, or riding around Oberlin on her racing bike with hot pink handle bars.
Valentine (she/her) is a rising senior and a new member of the lab. Other than learning new information about yeast and lab techniques, you might find her painting, swimming, or practicing harp.
Char (she/they) is a fourth-year biochemistry and art history major, working on the biochemistry project in Professor Pike's lab. When she isn't working in the lab, she might be running around Oberlin, working at Azzies, or reading.
Fuka (she/her) is a fourth year from Kobe, Japan, and Grand Rapids, MI, double majoring in biology and piano performance. Outside of the lab and practice room, she enjoys spending time in her coop, catching up with friends, or dashing between the conservatory and the science center.
Audrey (she/her) is a third year biology major from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Outside of the lab, she enjoys drawing, painting, knitting, and looking for frogs.
Lii (They/Them) is a second-year biology and mathematics major with minors in Spanish and chemistry. Lii is interested in the mechanisms underlying patient conditions, and outside of lab spends their time sewing, embroidering, and playing the viola.
Grace (she/her) is a 2nd year biochemistry major at Oberlin from Kansas City, Missouri. She is fascinated with faulty biological mechanisms and pathways, but also spends her time making comics, swing dancing, or just wandering around in nature.
Rory is a very good girl, but we don't let her in the lab because she refuses to wear shoes, and her wagging tail will definitely knock over your experiment.
