What is UNSC ?
The United Nations Security Council is the most powerful organ of the UN, entrusted by the 1945 Charter with the primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security. Unlike any other international body, the Council has the unique authority to issue "Resolutions" that are legally binding for all UN Member States. Its mandate allows it to intervene whenever global stability is at risk, ranging from the peaceful mediation of disputes and the deployment of Blue Helmet peacekeeping missions to the imposition of severe coercive measures. These can include international sanctions, arms embargoes, and, as a last resort, the authorization of collective military action to restore order and protect human rights worldwide.
