What is MakerSpace?
MakerSpace is a fantastic experience offered to the 3rd and 4th Grade Vernon students as an enrichment option. It is a unique and wonderful opportunity for the children to tinker, create, think, build, imagine and invent using various materials. They use their imagination to make almost anything or learn something new. The student inventors also have the opportunity and resources to learn about something that interests them.
MakerSpace is a fantastic experience offered to the 3rd and 4th Grade Vernon students as an enrichment option. It is a unique and wonderful opportunity for the children to tinker, create, think, build, imagine and invent using various materials. They use their imagination to make almost anything or learn something new. The student inventors also have the opportunity and resources to learn about something that interests them.
Within this fun environment, our students become the initiator, researcher, scientist, inventor, explorer, builder... the teacher. We encourage the students to be the leaders of their projects while the teachers act as a support team, coaching and guiding them along their journey. We cultivate an environment where students with shared or different interests can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge. We are so excited to start creating again!
