Welcome to OAME 2023!

On behalf of the NOMA and TEAMS organizing committee, we welcome you to OAME 2023: EMPOWERINGME in 2023. We are glad you are joining us in celebrating the 50th annual OAME conference. The theme of this year’s conference is Empowering Me, which focuses on developing a culture of empowerment for math leaders, educators, and students to become stronger and more confident in mathematics learning and teaching. 

Looking through the program you will see the history of the conference, where it has been held, and each year’s organizing team. As in the past forty-nine conferences, this has been a labour of love and we trust our impressive line-up of keynote speakers, featured speakers, and session presenters will provide a stimulating professional development experience for all of you. We invite you to round out your conference experience by enjoying some of the social events we have planned.

We wish to express our gratitude to the organizing committee for their hard work over the past 2½ years, our volunteers whose job it is to help you find your way around, our sponsors and exhibitors for their fantastic support, the people at the Beanfield Centre, Exhibition Place for helping us host this event, and all of our presenters for contributing to an outstanding line-up of sessions.
