Dungeons and Dragons

Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or a beginner, our camp is the perfect place to learn, explore, and have an unforgettable week of fun. Learn how to guide a party through the world of Dungeons and Dragons, or create your own unique character and navigate the game's intricate rules and mechanics. With a focus on teamwork, communication, and critical thinking, you'll develop skills that will serve you well both in and out of the game. But the adventure doesn't stop there! Each day, you'll discover new challenges, complete quests, and battle fearsome monsters as you and your fellow adventurers explore the world together. Plus, enjoy activities like miniatures painting, game design, and creative writing to enhance your experience even further. Our Dungeons and Dragons Day Camp is suitable for ages [ ] and will run for two one-week sessions during SAM camp at Oakwood Friends School. Stop Motion

Have fun learning the basics of Stop Motion animation. Over the week you will make your own movie using paper, clay, figurines or art supplies. Discover how to add sound effects and music to enhance your movie. Kids must have their own smartphone with the Stop Motion App installed. CapCut is the preferred App for editing. Students are encouraged to bring their own miniature figurines, legos, or anything they would like to include as a character in their movie. We will share our movies on the last day!

Art, Performance, & Storytelling

Learn how to tell your story with a Cabinet of Curiosities! By using personal objects like a key, a trophy, a shoe, or anything else that represents a meaningful story for you, we'll establish and decorate your cabinet. The group will work together to learn storytelling, writing, and performance skills. Then, you'll organize your cabinet to help keep you on track, and perform for the group!

Week 1 only

Bug Camp

Get ready to explore the cool, quirky critters all over campus! This workshop is all about the beautiful world of bugs. Learn new ways to catch your favorite creatures, build bug homes, make creepy, crawly crafts, and more!

Brains & Brawn - Scavenger Hunt

Campers will use puzzle-solving skills, physical teamwork and keen eyes to find treasures around the campus, culminating in a grand prize at the end of the session. The campus will be our exploring ground, with each day's search taking us to hidden corners of Oakwood where we can use creativity to solve mental and physical challenges. Campers will be most successful at ages 9 and above. We should also aim to have 6 or more campers per class.

Week of Wizardry

Do you love all things Harry Potter? Then this class is for you! In this class, you will find out which house you will loyal to for the week, make wands, potions, play quidditch, explore herbology and more! If you are looking to let your inner wizard out- your wizarding adventure awaits!

Week 2 only

Groovy Gardening

Are you ready to get down and dirty? Join us for some competitive composting, seed explosions, and floral crafting in this week-long session all about pollinator-friendly plants and supporting the earth’s biodiversity.

DaVinci's Workshop

Campers will embark on a week-long adventure filled with thrilling challenges and captivating discoveries. Come and explore the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. At the workshop we foster curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity through hands-on activities and experiments.
