Dear Parents & Carers,
We have reached the end of Module One, and what a module it has been!
I would like to start by recognising the hard-work and enthusiasm that went into preparing and performing in our Harvest celebration at St Martin's Church on Friday 18th October. It was lovely to have welcomed many parents to this service to share in the learning of our pupils and help raise funds for St Martin's Church. Reverend Joyce and her team were blown away with the level of donations they received. We will confirm to you the total in the next module.
We hope you have stayed safe over the two-week break and look forward to welcoming you back on the 04th November for Module Two.
Best wishes,
Mr L Coulson
On the last day of Module 1, we said goodbye to Mrs Goodfellow in the academy office. Mrs Goodfellow has secured a position with greater responsibility that provides her a new challenge. We would like to thank her for her tireless work and efforts she has given to firstly Oaks Primary Academy, and now, Leigh Academy Oaks. We know that Mrs Goodfellow will be difficult to replace but we wish her every success for the future.
We are delighted to share that we have appointed Mrs Richardson as a Learning Support Assistant. She will join us supporting learning alongside the Year Two team, Miss Dunn and Mrs Cooper.
As the weather begins to turn colder and wetter, please remember to send your child into the academy wearing a coat. As always, it is really important that all clothing items are named so if they become misplaced, they can be returned to the correct owner.
Thank you to parents and carers for supporting the academy to keep the bikes and scooters neatly stored in the shed in the morning. We also ask that bikes and scooters are not ridden on the academy site until pupils are out of the gate. This is to ensure that no one gets hit or bumped into as the exit gate can become quite congested at the end of the day.
We encourage parents and carers to visit our curriculum pages on our academy website so they have a greater overiew and understanding of the curriculum objectives for each year group. Most celebrations and theme days will naturally be covered through the inclusive curriculum that we deliver at Leigh Academy Oaks.
Parents and carers are asked NOT to use their mobile phone whilst on the academy site. Members of staff will politely request you to end calls on the academy site. The use of mobile phones on site also extends to taking photographs and videos.
At Leigh Academy Oaks, we take great pride in the appearance of our pupils and expect all members of our academy to adhere to our uniform standards. You can view our uniform expectations HERE. Please ensure that all uniform is named and checked regularly.
This is a polite reminder to all parents and carers who drive to our academy. We appreciate that parking around the academy is limited an it can be difficult to find a space. However, please do not park; on double yellow lines, on the junctions, over dropped kerbs or the yellow zig-zag markings near our gates. Parking in the areas mentioned previously creates dangerous crossing conditions for pedestrians, our pupils and their families.
Make sure you follow us on Facebook to keep informed with updates and photos about what's happening during the school week.
