On Monday, we celebrated International Literacy Day (which is on September 8th.)
The theme this year is: promoting multilingual education: literacy for mutual understanding and peace.
We shared a story together called 'Fly, Eagle, Fly' which is an African tale from Ghana which is about an eagle reaching it's true potential. We took this message with us during the week, and pupils were aiming high in their learning, being aspirational and taking risks.
Our music assembly theme this term is String Instruments. Last week, we looked at what instruments make up a whole orchestra and we listened to some pieces of music.
This week, we focused on string instruments and we learned about the violin and viola as well as the cello and double bass.
You can read more about an orchestra from BBC Bitesize here.
Woodpecker Class - and Mr Syred - were thrilled to lift the trophy this week with a brilliant 100% attendance record!
