Dear Parents & Carers,
As another week at Oaks draws to a close, it has definitely been one of excitement and enjoyment. Classes are well underway with preparations for Christmas performances and I know that they are keen to share these with you all. It has been really pleasing to see the tremendous efforts that pupils and classes have been putting into their performances to ensure they are polished for you to watch over the coming weeks,
The final couple of weeks at Oaks will undoubtedly be busy, please make sure you are checking in with the Key Dates Document and any communications regarding events so you are aware of all information and timings.
I am also delighted to share with you all that last week on Friday, Mr Perkins and his wife, welcomed their baby daughter into the world. Becoming a father is a magical moment and all of us wish Mr & Mrs Perkins the very best in their new chapter as parents. With this in mind, Mr Perkins will be away from the academy next week. Year 6 will continue to be taught by Mrs Mehigan, Mrs McFadden and Miss Roffey. Mr Perkins will return to the academy on Monday 16th December.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.
Best Wishes
Mr L Coulson
On Christmas Jumper Day - 18th December - pupils are invited to wear their own clothes to school, with their Christmas jumpers. We know that many children will be attending the discos after school, and this will mean additional disco clothes will not need to be sent in with your child.
Please keep a eye on our Key Dates document as this will contain important information about celebrations or events that are happening in the academy.
As the weather begins to turn colder and wetter, please remember to send your child into the academy wearing a coat. As always, it is really important that all clothing items are named so if they become misplaced, they can be returned to the correct owner.
We encourage parents and carers to visit our curriculum pages on our academy website so they have a greater overview and understanding of the curriculum objectives for each year group. Most celebrations and theme days will naturally be covered through the inclusive curriculum that we deliver at Leigh Academy Oaks.
Parents and carers are asked NOT to use their mobile phone whilst on the academy site. Members of staff will politely request you to end calls on the academy site. The use of mobile phones on site also extends to taking photographs and videos.
At Leigh Academy Oaks, we take great pride in the appearance of our pupils and expect all members of our academy to adhere to our uniform standards. You can view our uniform expectations HERE. Please ensure that all uniform is named and checked regularly.
Make sure you follow us on Facebook to keep informed with updates and photos about what's happening during the school week.
