Dear Parents & Carers,
There was no better way to finish a dark January than with a colourful Art Week, organised by Mrs Bennoson. Children had a range of creative opportunities every day to learn and develop their art skills and knowledge. We hope you can visit their Art Exhibition on Thursday 13th February from 3:15 to 3:45pm in the school hall.
On Monday, you should have received the Leigh Academies Trust Parent Voice Survey. Please take the time to complete this: it is incredibly helpful for us as an academy to make continued improvements. It is only with your feedback that we can understand best how to support our community. Thank you in advance for your continued support.
On Friday, to celebrate Number day and the important work of the NSPCC, we invite children to dress up as anything number related! Please visit their website here to see how the NSPCC can support families, from advice on healthy relationships, to staying safe online and managing family life, there are resources for everyone. You are welcome to make a donation directly to the NSPCC via the link above.
I would like to congratulate two pupils this week personally, Paula in Year 5 as she has been promoted to Police Mini Cadet Sergeant! Secondly, I would like to recognise the amazing achievement of Eliza in Reception. Eliza has won a bronze in the Kent Honey Show organized by British Beekeeping Association Kent Branch. She was been competing with beekeepers with over 40 years of experience and is the youngest contestant in the history of the show. This is a remarkable outcome for such a young beekeeper- I look forward to hearing of her future successes!
As I am sure you have noticed, we have had a parking enforcement officer patrolling at drop off and collection. This is to ensure that cars are parked safely and that they do not cause an obstruction or make the surrounding area dangerous for our pupils. Please be respectful with your parking to make the journey to and from school safe for our pupils.
Finally, if your child rides a bike or scooter to and from school, please can you make sure they are careful when entering and exciting the academy site. We have had a few comments from other parents that have nearly been hit by scooters and bikes. Please also remember that bikes and scooters should not be ridden on the academy site past the 'bikeshed'.
Best Wishes
Mr L Coulson
