Meet the PTO Board for 25-26
Kids: Isabel (4th Grade) and Cooper (Kinder)
This is third year as a PTO board member, previously I was secretary. I am excited to bring back many beloved events to our Oak Meadow campus, as well as introduce some new things! I am looking forward to meeting many new families and friends in the process. I work full time as an emergency department charge nurse in downtown Sacramento. For fun, I enjoy horseback riding and cooking.
This is my second year at Oak Meadow and first year on the PTO Board. I have a background in communications, writing studies, and education. I write the monthly newsletters in Konstella, and sometimes, update the Instagram.
I'm a mom to three awesome kids, with my oldest starting kindergarten at Oak Meadow this past fall. I jumped into the PTO last October because I wanted to get more involved in my kids' school life and our community. Joining the PTO has been amazing—I’ve loved meeting other parents, making new friends, and working together to make our kids' school experience even better. I'm really passionate about creating a fun and supportive environment for all the families at Oak Meadow.
I’m a bookkeeper by trade, so naturally, I am the treasurer for Oak Meadow PTO and have been since fall 2023. In addition to running my business and being treasurer at Oak Meadow, I am also treasurer for my son’s Boy Scout troop. I have three kids, two at Oak Meadow and one at Rolling Hills. When I’m not busy crunching the numbers, I am usually taking one of the three kids to one activity or another. In the rare downtime I enjoy baking and reading.
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. The Oak Meadow PTO is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization comprised of parents, teachers, and staff dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of all students at Oak Meadow Elementary and Buckeye Union Mandarin Immersion Charter Schools. Our goals are to encourage interaction between family and school, serve as a source of support, and work with teachers, staff, and the community at large to enhance our children’s educational experience. The PTO works closely with the school administration to meet this goal.
We make our kids' school year extra special by hosting fun events, encouraging parent involvement and putting on fundraisers to enrich their school days at the Oak Meadow campus. All money raised stays at the Oak Meadow campus. The PTO organizes special events such as Harvest Festival, Family Movie Night, Glow Dane, Spring Fling, teacher appreciation week, and spirit wear.
We work with our principal and teachers to best determine how to spend the money and make our great school even better.
