What does the PTO do?
We hold fund raising events which support the school and it's students. Our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Blue Jeans Ball Tricky Tray, With the funds raised the PTO has purchased smart boards, ipads, and Chromebooks, completed renovation of the library, and updated the gymnasium. Every school year additional library books are purchased for the Manito Library with funds raised during our bookfairs. The PTO is currently fundraising to build an outdoor learning center at Manito School.
How can I view the PTO news?
PTO news is posted in GroupSpot. Once you join the PTO you will receive information on how to join the PTO GroupSpot group in the email receipt from Cheddar Up. If you need additional assistance with setting up GroupSpot, please email the PTO.
When are the PTO meetings and what do they discuss at them?
The meeting are held every month Sept-May. Meetings are lead by the School Principal, Mr. Silverstein and the PTO board members. Each month we discuss the Oakland BOE, Teacher's agenda for the coming month and PTO budget and fundraising ideas and issues. Please look at our calendar for meeting dates and the meeting location.
Can anyone go to the meeting?
Any parent with a child in Manito Elementary School or teacher employed at Manito Elementary School is welcome to the meetings. All issues discussed have a direct affect on you and your child(ren) and it is very important for you to know what is going on. Any question you have before or after the meeting please email the PTO.
Are donations to the Manito PTO tax deductible?
All donations are tax deductible as the Manito School PTO is a 501(c)(3) charity organization. If you would like a receipt for your donation, please email the PTO.
