Google Meet Resources:
Please be mindful not to use:
Google Calendar generated links
or links generated without a nickname from Google Meet
when creating meetings for students. At this moment in time, there is no way to close the meetings generated in those two methods to students. This may allow students to access the Meet before and after the teacher has left the meeting.
Recommended Method #1: Google Classroom generated Meet link
**Note: Be sure to "reset" the link after each meeting as the video below explains or your virtual meeting room does remain open and accessible even after you have left it
Recommended Method #2: Using a Nicknamed Meeting
**Note: Be sure you are sharing only the meeting nickname with students NOT the link that is also generated when you start a meeting.

How to Share Your Screen
If you would like the ability to view ALL participants in a grid format (similar to Zoom's default layout) during your meeting you will need:
Note: You can share the link above to students for them to add the extension to their own Chrome accounts in order to have this view as well. When you add the extension, it is only for YOUR web browser.
If you would like the ability for students to react using some simple emoji reactions that pop up on the screen or the ability to raise their hand so you can call on them you and your students would need to add:
If you would like to use the space bar as a "hotkey" to easily mute/unmute your microphone, you can install this extension. This extension also defaults a "mute upon joining a meeting" setting.
Note: Some of these sessions are previously recorded live sessions. To view a live session recording below, please make sure to be logged into your Berkley Schools Google account as these recordings are set to view only for those in our shared email system đź‘€. Thank you!
