Graduate Students
MS. student (Jan 2024 - present)
Haillee graduated from Oakland University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. She is continuing her education as MS. student focusing on physiology and stoichiometry of phytoplankton and zooplankton populations.
Undergraduate Students
Lilli is an undergraduate student majoring in Biology at Oakland University. For the 2024 summer, she is participating in the Student Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) examining how zooplankton populations change temporally in a local lake. This fall, Lilli will be working on her Honors Thesis examining changes in water quality caused by native mussel reintroduction in the Clinton River. Lilli is interested in ecology, and loves being outside and near the water.
Kaila is an undergraduate student majoring in Biology at Oakland University. She has been volunteering in the laboratory since Feb 2024. Kaila spends her time in the lab helping out with chemical analyses and keeping things organized. She is completing her Honors Thesis examining changes in water quality caused by native mussel reintroduction in the Clinton River. Kaila plans to go to medical school, but is interested in biogeochemistry.
Alumni
MS (Sept 2023 - April 2025)
Olivia defended MS thesis in April 2025 on the depth-dependent drivers of lake ecosystems.
Olivia is currently looking for a career in science education.
MS (Sept 2023 - April 2025)
Ryan defended his MS thesis in March of 2025 on the spatial and temporal effects of decomposition in lentic ecosystems. Ryan was co-supervised by Dr. Tiegs and Wagner.
He is currently looking for a Ph.D. position in Marine Biology or Oceanography.
Graduated BS Environmental Science 2024
2023-2024
Tessa was in the Student Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) for the summer of 2023 exploring the relationships between nitrogen:phosphorus supply with different nitrogen forms.
