O2 MASTERS SWIM (O2M)
O2 Masters is an adult program (age 18 and over) designed to train the recreational, fitness-minded, competitive and triathlete swimmer. Professional coaches prepare and administer the workouts specifically designed for the adult swimmer and their goals. The Coaching philosophy is Speed is Achieved First through Technique and then followed by Aerobic / Anaerobic Endurance Training.
The composition of the team is such that you will find at least 2-5 athletes who have similar swimming abilities as you and share your passion for the sport.
O2 Masters attends numerous competitive events each year. For competitive swimmers, there are several local swim meets sponsored by North Texas Masters. In addition, the team participates in United States Masters National Swimming Championships, both Pool and Open Water events. For the Triathlete, in addition to their USTA competition schedule, the team attends several Open Water events, including Swim Across America and the annual Lake Travis Relays held in Austin, TX. For the Fitness swimmer, the team participates in USMS sponsored events such as the One Hour Postal Swim, the and DAM SMU Christmas Relays
The team also holds regular social events throughout the year.

Leaves of Absence
O2 understands that there are times when a member will not participate for an extended period of time due to family obligations or injury. Each member must understand too, that O2 cannot operate financially on a "drop-in" basis. Monthly income must be consistent for us to pay our coaches and meet our other obligations.
Non-Medical Leaves of Absence
Non-medical leaves for 65 days or less require continued payment of monthly dues. If the leave is 66 days or more, the member terminates membership and rejoins paying the annual member fee. ALL non-medical leaves require a 30-day notice to the Treasurer in written form (email is acceptable).
Medical Leaves of Absence
Medical leaves require a note from a medical doctor to waive monthly dues up to 65 days. If the medical leave is 66 days or more, the member must pay the annual membership fee to rejoin. Medical leave does not require a 30 day notice.
Board Representation
O2 Youth and Masters teams are both governed by the same Board of Directors and are voted on by members annually. We strive to always have a Masters representative on the Board, but it is not a requirement of our Bylaws. Active participation by a Masters member is always welcome.
