Assistant Professor, HEC Paris
I am an assistant professor of Accounting and Management Control at HEC Paris. I obtained my Ph.D. in Accounting from the Stern School of Business at New York University, an M.S. in Management Studies from MIT, an MBA, and a B.A. in Accounting from Tsinghua University. Prior to joining Stern, I had seven years of work experience in public accounting and in corporate finance. I am also a CPA and a CMA.
Deeply fascinated by corporate governance, I am engaged in several research projects to understand how the structure, expertise, organization, and engagement of the board of directors influence a firm’s business and social practices and, hence, affect its risk and value. I am also interested in diversity and labor studies.
My research has been published in Contemporary Accounting Research and Review of Accounting Studies (RAST). I have received generous funding from the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business, the HEC Paris Foundation Grant, and the S&O Institute at HEC Paris.
At HEC Paris, I teach Financial Accounting to MBA and inexperienced master students. I also coordinate learning accounting through business games in various academic programs, including the EMBA and short-term executive education projects.
