The Volcano Theater Project

Welcome!

The Volcano Theatre Project is a cross-disciplinary project, bringing together a team of international scholars and practitioners, around environmental urgencies and the communities they are directly associated with. The area of interest is the Campi Flegrei area in Naples, Italy.

The team is working closely with civil society, community organizers, and arts organizations as well as municipal authorities in Pozzuoli and Monte di Procida, municipalities around Naples. 

Project activities include:

• interdisciplinary research 

• workshops and creative meet-ups

• site specific work in the Campi Flegrei area

• community-based artistic interventions

• conceptualization of responses to environmental urgencies
