I found this sculpture in Jing 'an Sculpture Park. I think this sculpture is a good material for my project one. Beyond that, I came up with some ideas of User Experience.
First of all, the shape of the sculpture is very beautiful. It's made of stacked violins, and perfect for viewing. The overall shape of the sculpture is cylindrical, so there is no front or back. Students from different directions to Magnolia House can enjoy it.
In addition, the violin represents music. Maybe we could put a music player on the sculpture and play some violin music. This not only fits the shape of the sculpture, but also gives students the enjoyment of hearing. At the same time, it also provides a good environment for students studying and talking in Magnolia House.
If possible, we can also consider adding touchable points in unity, and add some special effects and displacement to give the user more experience.
I also found a good place in 4th floor Magnolia House of NYUSH campus.Â
The reason I want to put it here is because it's open enough to make the sculpture stand out, letting the users to walk around it and see it in detail. At the same time, it won't block the way or obstruct the normal use and operation of other parts of Magnolia House. Moreover, the music played here can be (under ideal condition that it's a real sculpture) heard by the whole Magnolia House, bringing better visual and auditory enjoyment for the users.
I wanted my assumption to be applicable to both unity modeling and reality (there is a sculpture in Magnolia House for real). I will continue to improve it in the next practice process to realize my idea.
