July 3-7: Students must arrive on July 3 for and check-in to the Hotel Regina Margherita located at Viale Regina Margherita, 44 - 09124 Cagliari (CA) - Sardinia / Italy. booking@hotelreginamargherita.com, Tel. +39 070 670342. Check-in time is 2:00pm. If you arrive earlier than 2:00pm you may request to leave your luggage with the concierge.
July 7 The group will fly together to Milan and check into the Hotel Antares Concorde. The Tisch Institute will book your flights from Sardinia to Milan. You only need to book your arrival flight into Italy and your departure from Italy when the GFI program ends.
July 12: The program will end in Milan, and all students must check out of the Milan hotel on July 12 by 12:00pm.
Italy: Milan, Bologna, Trento with Professor David Hollander
July 10-13: Students must arrive on July 10, and check-in to the Hotel B&B Milano La Spezia,Via Spezia, 25 , 20145 Milano, Tel: +39 02 84800660 Check-in time is 3:00pm. If you arrive earlier than 3:00pm you may request to leave your luggage with the concierge.
July 13-16: The group will take the train together to Bologna and check into the Hotel NH Bologna De La Gare Bologna located at P.za XX Settembre, 2, 40121 Bologna BO, Italy Tel: +39 051 281611. The Tisch Institute will book your train tickets from Milan to Bologna.
July 16-20: The group will travel together to Trento, and check into the Hotel NH Trento, Via Adalberto Libera, 7 38121 Trento Italy. The Tisch Institute will book your transportation to Trento.
July 21: Students will check out of the hotel in Trento and be responsible for booking their own travel arrangements back to their destination of choice.
Travel Guide
Students have the option to purchase flights through NYU Concur Travel or any third-party vendor for additional cost savings. *To access the booking site for NYU Concur, log into home.nyu.edu and search for "Travel and Expense".
Please research all travel companies prior to your purchase. Trip insurance is strongly recommended in the event of trip cancellation.
Visas and Passports
The Office of Outbound Services provides guidance on visa requirements for global field intensive programs. It is the student's responsibility to complete the necessary steps to obtain all required travel documents prior to departure. Domestic and international students should contact outbound.ShortTerm@nyu.edu to confirm visa requirements based on both citizenship and travel itineraries.
Student are encouraged to contact outbound.ShortTerm@nyu.edu for guidance on travel visas.
A school travel letter, housing confirmation and GeoBlue insurance certificate will be provided to accompany required documents for the visa application.
Passports should be valid at least six (6) months after the GFI Program ends. Click here for NYU passport services and information.
Travel Registry
All GFI participants, (faculty and students), are required to complete the Travel Registry Form at least 6 weeks prior to arrival at the GFI destination. Prior to departure, the Travel Registry profile for each participant should have a green checkmark for all items in the checklist.
Medical Consultations
The Student Health Center can provide you with the latest health information and immunization services for your trip. Please click here to schedule an appointment 4-6 weeks prior to departure.
