Overview

TechSHRM (formerly PolySHRM) is the Society for Human Resource Management student chapter at NYU Tandon School of Engineering - Polytechnic Institute. TechSHRM has been awarded the Superior Merit Award by SHRM for its innovative activities almost every year since its founding in 1987. In 2019-20, TechSHRM was selected as one of the 10 most outstanding chapters in the U.S. (for the third time). In addition, many of its leaders have received the coveted Sherman Award from NYC SHRM. TechSHRM is committed to providing its members and the NYU Tandon student community with professional and leadership development opportunities to prepare them for future careers. Most TechSHRM members are students in the Department of Technology Management and Innovation which offers a concentration in People Analytics in the Management of Technology MS degree program. The TechSHRM chapter reinforces this unique program by focusing on activities that integrate the management of people, organizations, analytics and technology.

Mission and Vision

  • To explore R&D as well as current trends in HR, particularly in the area of People Analytics

  • To enhance leadership development via participation on the TechSHRM Executive board

  • To develop sustainable membership programs which ensure the continuity and growth of TechSHRM
