TechSHRM (formerly PolySHRM) is the SHRM student chapter at NYU Tandon School of Engineering – Polytechnic Institute.
The chapter has consistently earned the Superior Merit Award since 1987 and was recognized as one of the 10 most outstanding chapters in the U.S. in 2019-20.
Numerous chapter leaders have received the prestigious Sherman Award from NYC SHRM.
TechSHRM provides professional and leadership development opportunities, aligning closely with the People Analytics concentration in NYU Tandon’s Management of Technology MS program.

Certification & Recertification Support
Individual Scholarships
110 awards of $750 each help cover SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exam fees or prep courses.
20 of those awards are reserved for applicants working on veteran-support initiatives.
Recertification Scholarships
20 awards of $100 each reimburse the SHRM recertification application fee if you apply within 12 months of winning.
Selection Factors
Work experience, future HR goals, volunteer service, financial need, and a reference letter weigh heavily in the scoring rubric.
Academic & Professional Development Funding
$400 K+ set aside annually for undergraduate and graduate HR study.
$200 K+ devoted to conference travel, credentialing, and leadership programs for rising HR professionals.
Key grants include:
Annual Conference Grant – travel and registration to the SHRM Annual Conference.
Student & Professional Membership Grants – fully funded SHRM membership for one year.
