Task 1: Robot
In this task I started by searching for a reference picture of a robot character. I started to build this character from its legs and going up:
After building the legs I realized that duplicating and rotating for the other side messed up the front design of the bottom part. It would be better if the leg was mirrored, so I had to level the arc and rebuild it in the front again of the left leg. Also I ran into some problems with rotation where the object is rotating from the origin of the world instead of the object.
After building the legs I started to work on the torso of the robot using only spheres and cylinders. I used loop cuts on the bottom section to give a curvier look to the trapezoid shape and did the same for the top section. I then used a sphere and used proportional editing to make a more cube like shape from the sphere to make the head. Then selecting faces of the round cube and extruding in to create a screen for its face.
For the arms I used simple cylinders to scale, extrude, and inset to get rounder shapes. I also used a bevel for most parts of the robot so the edges would appear round.

Task 2: Character
I first went to Pinterest to look for a reference picture since I wanted a character that would be easy to make with cubes. I did not know how to block with the cube before this so I searched for tutorial videos and learned more on how to use a cube to make a figure. After picking out my reference picture I started with the body and torso and used the front view to block out the main shape.
Then I continued to do this for the legs and I built the shoes separately then attached on afterwards. I also used loop cuts to give the character or dimensions and details for its clothes.
But getting out of the front view I noticed the side view was very thick and flat so I moved the edges and surfaces for details. For the characters fingers I extruded from the sleeves and rotated faces to bend the fingers. Then I moved on to building the head also using a cube.
To make the head I subdivided the cube two or three times and moved the vertices to create a round sphere. Then I duplicated the shape to create the helmet/hat of the character. I flattened, extruded, and inset to make it hollow.

Task 3: Creature
Task 3 was the most difficult for me because I am not used to making round shapes. For this creature I started by making the body first using a cylinder and loop cutting to round the sides. Then extruding and scaling to make the skirt.
The topology isn't the best for the skirt and has many triangles that show outside. I noticed using bevel some of the time creates edges that merge into each other or messes up the original shape if it goes out of bounds. I then used spheres for the rest of the creature, starting from its legs and head. Also making its tail from using a sphere and proportional editing to shape the sphere easier.
Lastly I added the leaf on top of its head made from a sphere.
