You need to have Logic Pro X, ProTools, and EW Composer Cloud installed.

The free Spitfire LABS instruments are required for the class as well. 

These free plugins will serve as a complement to the plugins included in Logic and ProTools. You will most likely start using them a few weeks into the semester, but you should have everything installed at the beginning.

iZotope plugins are widely used. The free ones are still high quality that allow you to do some specific but very powerful functions.

Valhalla  reverbs are affordable and also one of the best. The free one they offer (Supermassive) is a set of long delays and plugins. There are two other free plugins: FreqEcho and SpaceModulator

Wider is a simple but well crafted stereo widener

Nova provides probably the only free option of a dynamic EQ Iike the ones you will find in paid plugins from iZotope or  FabFilter)

Finally, just for fun, PanCake 2 is a very customizable panner to be very creative on that area

Logic comes with a powerful selection of synthesizers already, which includes Alchemy. These two synths are analog emulations (similar to the vintage synth in Logic)  made by U-He, one of the top synth company makers. U-HE Zebra and Diva are used all the time in film scores and other electronic pieces
