About Us

Each year, over 9,500 students participate in the SAE Collegiate Design Series (CDS) North American competitions. For the past several years, engineering students at NYU have formed teams to compete in SAE's Aero Competition to build and innovate modeled commercial airplane's having a record of finishing second in 2009 and 2010, as well as first place is 2011 (advanced class).

Our team at NYU will be competing in the Regular Class SAE Aero West Competition. The planning, production and testing of this product will take place at New York University's Tandon School of Engineering, 6 Metrotech, Brooklyn, NY.

As we continue to uphold our presence as a top team, we invite you to support and watch firsthand as we participate in this year’s CDS and are challenged by hands-on team experience while we gain budgeting, communication, time, production and resource management skills.

These are among the top skills most valued by today's innovation organizations.

NYU's SAE Aero team has consistently participated in this competition on a yearly basis. Last year we placed 15th out of 40 teams. With the faculty support we have and a set of great teammates, we are confident that we have the strength and skills to advance this year's design to greater heights and exceed expectations.
