Wesley Alberts is the founder and lead educator at Prysmind: Innovations in Learning. With over seven years of experience as a dedicated K-12 educator, mentor, and curriculum developer, Wesley has a rich history of supporting diverse learners.
Having studied Educational Policy and Developmental Psychology at New York University, Wesley's academic and professional paths are driven by a singular mission: to reshape the landscape of special education. He envisions a future where support for neurodivergent students is not just about remediation, but about recognizing and nurturing exceptional potential.
Wesley's passion is deeply personal. As a neurodivergent overachiever himself, he often felt constrained by standardized educational models that didn't cater to his way of thinking. This experience fueled his goal to create his own program for like-minded students who are frequently overlooked in traditional school settings.
His extensive background includes:
Founding and managing the private tutoring program Elementary to Elite in New York City, where he has worked with students of all ages and needs, including those with IEPs and learning differences
Developing and managing the math enrichment and Math Olympiad programs at The Carroll School (PS-58 Brooklyn)
Serving as the Lead Math Instructor for AdmissionSquad Inc., preparing rising high schoolers to take the SHSAT
Working as a student-mentor and researcher for an NSF-funded program at NYU, providing support to autistic high school students, and working with the school's special education team to make their curricula more accommodating and inclusive
At Prysmind, Wesley combines his wealth of experience and personal insight to be the kind of tutor, mentor, guidance counselor, and life skills coach your kids deserve. He is committed to designing innovative, personalized learning experiences that allow every student to thrive and reach their full, brilliant potential, and always looking for opportunities to grow and improve his practices.
