Would you like to compete with students at other universities ?
Are you interested in working for leading High Tech companies such as Google, Facebook, Tencent, Alibaba, Amazon, ByteDance, Cambricon, etc.
If your answer for any of the above questions is yes, you are welcome to join our Competitive Programming Club. ACM ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Competition) is a worldwide programming competition among all the universities undergraduate student. Google Codejam, Topcoder, Codechef, Codeforces, Leetcode, Hackerrank, IEEExtreme Programming and many other sites also arrange competitive programming/problem solving competitions each year.
NYU Shanghai will create several teams and participate in these competitions, although our main goal will be to participate in the ACM ICPC world finals.
As a community, we will learn and train each other programming in C++, advanced data structures and algorithms, computational geometry, advanced problem solving techniques, and so on. We will practice programming using ICPC programming contest questions from previous years as well as ACM-provided practice problems.
If you are interested to learn more about our club, please scan the QR code and fill out the Google Form to join our info session. You can also contact any of the faculty members if you want to learn more about our club.
This Competitive Programming Club will be managed by Computer Science faculty members. We are going to organize a community where we will train and learn from each other, and practice competitive programming together.
Faculty Members of the Competitive Programming Club:
Ratan Dey – Assistant Professor of Practice in Computer Science
(Data Structures and Databases Courses Instructor)
Siyao Guo – Assistant Professor in Computer Science
(Data Structures and Computer Architecture Courses)
Although you are expected to have programming experience, experience with any programming language is perfectly fine! If you participated in math Olympiads or similar types of competitions while you were in high school, you are most welcome to join even if you have no programming experience. Let’s learn problem solving and coding together!
