Data Science & Computer Science Capstone Symposium

The purpose of the Data Science & Computer Science Capstone is for students to apply the theoretical knowledge they acquired during their studies to a real-world problem. Students thus engage in the entire process of tackling a concrete computer science project that they conduct from start to finish. It requires them to pursue a long-term, mentored effort towards a piece of original scientific and engineering work.

At the end of the semester, this work comes to fruition in the form of either functional software prototype or a theoretical study, a written technical report, and an oral presentation.

The Data Science & Computer Science Capstone Symposium is the forum where students present their work. They get 12 minutes to talk about their project, and 3 minutes to answer questions from the audience.

Due to the constraints brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, our 2020 Symposium is held online.
