Born and raised in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, I started to appreciate the impact equitable and accessible technology has on people and communities on a global scale! After coming to NYU, majoring in computer science and minoring in mathematics and cybersecurity, I am equipped with the technical skills to build technology products that aim to uplift underserved, marginalized populations in the world to help level the playing field of opportunities for each individual.
Over the past few years, I have navigated exciting internships, innovative competitions, and awesome professional organizations. Most recently, I interned as a Software Engineer at Nike, crafting API solutions for the Nike Contracts Platform! I've also interned as a software engineer at JPMorgan Chase, working directly on the iOS retail application, and at Vital Audio a startup at NYU future labs working on the web application to enable Machine Learning to convert patient audio data into relevant health metrics like heart rate & heart rate variability!
Additionally, I love sharing my passion for STEM with other students. As the President of Society of Women Engineers I have worked to foster a community and host professional development workshops for over 200+ women engineers. I also serve as a teaching assistant for Computer Networking under Professor O'Rourke and have volunteered in Hyderabad, India as a bilingual teaching assistant for the Women's State Home Orphanage & Devnar School for the Blind.
Apart from school, I love to stay active by playing soccer, lifting, and hiking with my family!
In an engineering school, it can be really easy to fall into closed circles and learning only about major related curriculum, and fixating on problem-solving inside the classroom, while overlooking the idea that engineering can bring a world of impact to communities and our environment . Being in GLASS, has not only re-focused the center of all my endeavors to have real impact on people, but also has enabled me to hear unique perspectives from other socially conscious engineers to broaden and push my own perspectives.
Some of my most Meaningful GLASS Experiences
Studying abroad in Abu Dhabi was a really cool way to stay connected with all of our GLASS cohort, while being able to dive into projects that help communities like Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi to incentivize public transportation and found opportunities to optimize existing bus stop infrastructure.
The sophomore year seminar was a great way to get to meet talented individuals who I would get to know for the next two years. It was great to hear the perspectives of various industry and academic professionals to get a glimpse into various project scopes outside of our majors!
