The Learning and Teaching Nexus (Nexus) is a service, design, development, and research unit at the New York University School of Professional Studies (SPS). Nexus advances the future of professional education and continuing studies by engaging in work across various areas of practices, including Learner-Centric Course Architecture, Goal-Driven Technology Adoption, Incubation of Faculty Labs and Initiatives, Learning Data and Research, Design Sessions, and Solutions Events.
The Learning and Teaching Nexus (Nexus) at the School of Professional Studies is seeking Graduate Student Assistants to support the Nexus colleagues in designing, developing, and assessing learning opportunities to support the work of NYU SPS faculty and advance the NYU SPS Learning Ecosystem.
This is a paid position:
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Rate: $29/hour
Location: On campus - 10 Astor Place, New York, NY 10003. The position requires to be on-site during the business hours - week days, 9am-5pm.

Nexus colleagues will mentor the student to support the Learning Experience Design group of Nexus.
The key responsibilities of the group are to create educational opportunities to advance teaching and provide creative solutions to any issues and problems in teaching and learning.
Following instructional design models, the student will experience the learning design process, which involves creating and communicating instructional design documents, conducting research, testing and implementing new instructional strategies or technologies, developing prototypes and pilots, and delivering solutions with the plan of continuous improvement.
The Nexus offerings include online workshops, faculty consultations, webinars, asynchronous online learning, online guides and orientations, blog posts, knowledge base resources, and more.
Any specific project the student will work on will be determined based on department needs and student interests.
Understanding of instructional design theories and models
Experience in creating instructional design documents (design document, storyboard, flowchart, etc.)
Strong professional written and verbal communication and organizational skills
Experience using/managing LMS systems
Demonstrated a history of creativity and innovation
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), Google Suite (Gmail, Slides, Drive, Calendar, Sheet), and Zoom video conferencing.
Experience with emerging technologies (e.g., XR, AI)
Experience in training or workshop facilitation or curating
Experience with multimedia production
Skills in Industry design tools (e.g., Sketch, InVision, Overflow, Adobe Creative Cloud) and Web development
Advanced data analysis skills
Customer service/success team experience
Experience in a research and development setting or educational start-up
